As the long-term benefits of hosting the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, the biggest sporting event ever hosted on African soil, become clearer with each passing day, a high profile official from Tourism Vancouver makes his way to Cape Town to share his expertise on the hosting of such mega-events.
Walt Judas is the Vice President: Marketing Communications & Member Services at Tourism Vancouver. His talk, entitled “Olympic Dreams: The Impact of Mega-Events on Business Tourism”, will take place on 20 October 2010 at 15:00 at the Taj Cape Town.
The 2010 Winter Olympic Games were hosted in Vancouver, which with Cape Town, is a certified member of the BestCities Global Alliance.
Judas led Tourism Vancouver’s Olympic strategy and worked in both Torino and Beijing when these cities hosted the Olympic Games in 2006 and 2008 respectively.
