Australia Wins 300 International Association Conferences

Business-Events-AustraliaAccording to Business Events Australia, over 300 major international association conferences have been confirmed for Australia over the next three years with further growth anticipated as a result of closer links to the country’s innovation, research and trade agendas.

Manager of the Australian Associations Project, Julie Sheather said Australia’s expertise and innovation is helping to attract significant events across a wide range of industries including agribusiness/aquaculture, education and training, ICT and clean energy.

Australia is also continuing to attract the world’s leading scientific and medical conferences with leaders in nursing, autism, immunology, rehabilitation, urology, haemophilia, pharmaceutical sciences and psychiatry all heading to Australian destinations.

“The business events industry is working together to leverage the best of Australian innovation and expertise across the government, university and private sectors on behalf of associations bringing their events to Australia,” Ms Sheather said.

“The influence of Australia’s knowledge economy in sectors as diverse as manufacturing, agribusiness, ICT, education, mining and resources, clean energy and financial services is being increasingly brought to bear on what we can offer association event organisers.

“Australia is an ideal business event destination with its close proximity to Asia, its political and economic stability, its creativity and innovation, and its world class business events facilities,” Ms Sheather said.
