A massive convention, to be participated in by about 800 international MICE specialists, will be hosted on Jeju Island in the second half of 2011.
Jeju Tourism Organization (JTO) and the Jeju Wider-area Economic Bloc (WEB) Leading Project Support Team, announced that a memorandum of understanding (MOU) has been signed with the MCI Asia Pacific to help development of the MICE industry in Jeju.
At the time of signing the MOU, both parties also agreed to hold MCI’s International Business Meeting on Jeju Island. Over 800 participants of the staff and employees of the MCI group and MICE specialists will attend.
JTO aims to establish a more practical and concrete international MICE network and support system for MICE education through the MOU.
The main points in the MOU are that the MCI Asia Pacific will provide MICE marketing survey and consulting services to JTO. Also, an educational program for the development of MICE human resources, through MCI’s own educational program, will be linked to a program from another renowned global MICE organization, the Meeting Professionals International (MPI).
The MCI Group, founded in 1987, is a destination management company (DCM) and a professional convention organizer (PCO). The group is headquartered in Switzerland and operated in 22 countries with 44 branch offices. The MCI Korea was established in August 2010.
