South African Incentive Industry Wooed By Motivational Travel & Events Society Conference

SITEThe Society for Incentive Travel Executives (Site) is hoping to boost South African incentive travel professionals at its 2010 International Conference in Cape Town with reduced registration fees and the chance chance to hear a Nobel Prize winner’s opening address.

The Site International Conference, a leading international event in the motivational events and incentive travel industry, is being held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in Cape Town (4-7 December).

It is a platform for learning and networking for South African individual and related industries - from corporate executives to destination management companies, from meeting and event planners, to conference centres and other trade and business tourism specialists.

Site is offering a reduced registration fee to all South African delegates.

Nomasonto Ndlovu, Global Manager of Business Tourism at South African Tourism, welcomed the announcement.

“This is the first time such a prestigious event is being hosted in Africa. The event will be a wonderful opportunity for local industry players to build relations with delegates from other countries and elevate South Africa’s profile as a business-tourism destination.”

Executive Manager of the Western Cape Convention Bureau and Chairperson of the Local Organising Committee of the Site International Conference, David Frandsen agrees.

“We know South African delegates will see the intrinsic value of attending, especially as it’s been made so affordable. It will be a chance to expand their business networks, find out about upcoming trends and source ideas on how to build our own incentive travel industry.”

The keynote speaker will be former South African president and Nobel Peace Laureate, FW de Klerk. “We’re so proud to have been able to secure Mr de Klerk as a speaker,” continues Frandsen. “He is expected to speak on the transformative power of change.”

The early registration fee for South African delegates is approximately R3172, less than half the amount non-members would usually pay for an international conference. The discount is applicable even to non-Site members.

Delegates must register before 29 October 2010. “After this date, the fee will increase,” he concludes. “After 19 November, delegates can only register at the conference venue, so book as soon as possible.”
