More than 50 quality-driven PCOs descended on the beautiful venue of Quebec City for their IAPCO Annual Meeting & General Assembly in February.
Organised by JPdL Destination Management, a leading PCO in Canada with 7 regional offices and a staff count of over 50, a member of IAPCO and a strong believer in the Q-word.
Quebec has been a leading city throughout history, not only for its strategic position on the St. Lawrence River with strong communication links to the rest of Canada, but also today as a professional city with incredible charm, hospitality, history and tradition.
The Le Château Frontenac, a Fairmont flagship, was the excellent venue for the Annual Meeting – “I would highly recommend this hotel for any meeting where people want excellence and quality” commented Philippe Fournier, MD for MCI Group in France and President of IAPCO.
“The service was impeccable, the delivery perfect, but perhaps most importantly the welcome, the friendship and the absolute desire to provide perfect quality shone through – what a venue, what a city, what a place to be”.
But it was not just the surroundings, venue and service which inspired the Q-word; IAPCO’s annual meeting was centred around Quality, with their compulsory Quality Seminar, not only reiterating the quality criteria demanded of their members, but stating the strengthening guidelines by which these criteria will be governed in the future.
“Not for the faint hearted, it’s 3 strikes and you are out – IAPCO will enforce these issues” said Sarah Fitzpatrick, Congrex-UK, and Chair of IAPCO’s Quality Committee. “We will stand by our commitment to ensure quality. Q may be for Quebec – this wonderful city – and it may be for Quality – but in IAPCO’s book, it is also for Q-ompliance.”
