PCMA Launches First Global Corporate Summit

PCMAThe Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) announced the launch of their inaugural Global Corporate Summit, to be held July 22-26, 2012 in Glasgow, Scotland

The summit is an invitation-only event for senior professionals responsible for global corporate planning.

“PCMA membership of corporate planners has grown by 67% this past year and it is vital that key corporate planners attend to exchange ideas and learnings on important topics that will affect our businesses now and well into the future,” said David Peckinpaugh, CMP, President, Maritz Travel Company.

Summit participants will represent a cross-section of diverse vertical markets and tackle major issues global corporate meeting professionals are facing.

"The world is so much smaller now given technology and communication tools – the need for corporate planners to connect on a global level is critical to our success,” according to Kati Quigley, Director, Event Marketing, Microsoft Corporation.

“The topics we discuss and the connections we make will enable us to progress as an industry and contribute to our corporations at a greater level."

The agenda will be developed pre-summit through collaborative crowd sourcing among the confirmed participates. Topics already on the table are the fluctuating economy, cultural nuances, globalization, CSR and the optimal structure of meetings department.

The PCMA Global Corporate Summit will be sponsored by Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre and Visit Scotland. According to Ben Goedegebuure, Director of Sales Scottish Exhibition Conference Centre (SECC).
