At the recent annual conference of the International Association of Conference Centers, IACC Americas President Peter Stockmann presented two major awards that honor significant contributions to IACC education.
The Pyramid Award
IACC’s Pyramid Award was presented to Melissa Fromento, Group Publisher of MeetingsNet, "the US meeting industry's leading brand for news, practical information, and resources related to planning meetings, incentives, and events."
The Pyramid Award is IACC’s highest educational honor.
The award was established in 2000 to shine the spotlight on members who show a true and long-lasting commitment to IACC education.
Stockmann noted that Melissa has served the IACC Board of Directors on the Food & Beverage, Education and Sponsorship sub-groups of the Annual Conference Planning Committee for four years.
She has sponsored IACC’s annual conference herself at the bronze or gold level since 2005.
The Award of Excellence
The 2011 Award of Excellence was presented to Robert Sanders, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hospitality Resource Group, Inc. (HRG) based in White Plains, NY.
The Award of Excellence was established ten years ago by the IACC Board of Directors to underscore IACC’s commitment to education and to give heightened recognition and visibility to those individuals who give of their time, talent and resources to expand and enhance IACC’s educational offerings.
To be eligible, an individual must have contributed to this effort for at least two years.
In presenting the award, Stockmann referred to Robert’s creation of IACC’s in-depth Strategic Plans and his work with the Board of Directors to ensure that these plans guided all of IACC’s programs and services.
A frequent presenter at IACC Conferences, he also contributed considerable time and resources on to create IACC’s first component of the Sales Tool Kit, a webinar that helps sales managers use the benefits of IACC to sell more effectively.
