The China Incentive Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition (CIBTM) taking place between 8-10 September 2009 at the China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing and co-hosted by the Beijing Tourism Administration (BTA), will see it's biggest presence from Macau with a stand covering over 200sqm.
The increased stand space, double what was taken at the previous edition of the event, will enable Macau to promote itself as a Business Tourism Destination and position it as the new, vibrant, appealing and exciting destination for the international Meetings Industry.
This year is the Macau Government Tourist Office's (MGTO) second time exhibiting at CIBTM. Their Exhibiting Partners have grown three fold, increasing from 8 to 24.
"The reason for our expansion is largely due to the introduction of the Industry Partner Programme which was launched in October last year. The aim is to facilitate the packaging of Macau as a MICE destination, and most importantly, to showcase the rapid development of many new exciting venues and facilities in Macau in recent years."
"CIBTM is also an important platform for Macau as we have increased our promotional efforts in priority markets such as mainland China. We believe that through the network of CIBTM, we can source potential high quality buyers which in turn will help strengthen Macau's position as one of Asia's premier MICE destinations", says a spokesperson of the Macau Business Tourism Centre.
In celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the establishment of the Macau SAR (Special Administrative Region), MGTO launched the "Strategic MICE Market Stimulation Programme" in May, which forms part of the biggest ever promotion by MGTO at CIBTM 2009.
The stimulation programme is to assist business tourism partners and maintain the momentum and competitive edge Macau has been building as an international destination.
CIBTM Exhibition Director Graeme Barnett comments: "Macau's continuous presence at the show demonstrates their rise as a destination for the Meetings and Incentive Industry. We are excited that they are back and have increased their stand space. Their attendance will certainly add to the success of CIBTM 2009. Visitors and Hosted Buyers will undoubtedly benefit from visiting their stand at the exhibition."
