The posters are strategically placed at all entrances at the Centre to create awareness of Earth Hour 2009 to staff and general public.
According to the Centre’s General Manager, Peter Brokenshire, “Our participation in Earth Hour is an extension of the green initiatives implemented by the Centre since achieving Green Globe Benchmarked status in 2007."
“Our Earth Hour initiative is not only carried through at work but all team members are encouraged to create this awareness at home and among their family and friends”.
In conjunction with Earth Hour 2009, besides the switching off of the Centre’s façade lighting and non-essential lighting as part of its vote against global warming, other internal initiatives include the screening of Earth Hour 2009 videos on plasma TVs in the staff canteen and recreation area, and activating screensaver and wallpaper on staff’s computers.
