Daegu is the confirmed city to host IAEE (International Association for Energy Economics) International Conference 2013.
The Daegu Convention and Visitors Bureau attended the IAEE International Conference with the Korean Resources Economics Association (Bid Committee Chairman: Professor Hoesung Lee, Keimyung University) in San Francisco from 21st June to 24th and performed the bidding activities.
Daegu was finally granted as the hosting city for 2013 conference by the committee.
IAEE is held every year. It is attended by 600 members from energy related academics, industries and government organizations from 80 different countries.
It is the biggest international academic convention for energy economics.
IAEE 2013 will be held in the same year as World Energy Congress, so it is expected to play a major role in publicizing Daegu as one of the most advanced global city in terms of energy industry.
In addition, professor Hoesung Lee (Keimyung University, Department of Energy and Environmental Planning, College of Environment), who as the president for International Association for Energy Economics, played an impacting role in terms of getting Daegu to become the host city, was elected as the Asian representative for International Association for Energy Economics.
He will hold this commission from 2010 to 2011.
