With just over six months to go until CIBTM
returns to Beijing 8-10 September 2009, the event is scheduled to deliver over 4000 trade visitors, more than 300 Hosted buyers and 300 exhibitors from China and around the world.
This makes CIBTM
one of the largest events dedicated to the meetings and incentives industry in the country.
Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, Dubai Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing, Philippines Department of Tourism; Macau Government Tourist Office, Singapore Tourism Board, Korea Tourist Organisation, Hong Kong Tourism Board, Kempinski Hotels S.A; Hawaii Convention & Visitors Bureau, Vienna Convention Bureau
and Barcelona Convention Bureau
are just some of the international exhibitors contracted to date.
The full list will be available shortly on www.cibtm.com. They will be joined by a wide variety of destinations, airlines, hotels, tourism authorities and CVB’s from China and Asia.
Every exhibitor that participates in CIBTM
2009 will benefit from the pre-scheduled appointment system. This is one of the core brand values of every Reed Travel Exhibition’s (RTE) Meetings Portfolio event, which ensures that exhibitors only meet with buyers that are interested in seeing them.
New for 2009, all exhibitors with contracted stand space over 20sqm will also be given the chance to promote their destination, products and services with Destination Presentations to Hosted Buyers as part of the pre-scheduled appointment systems.
In defiance of the current economic climate, RTE portfolio of events has witnessed unrivalled success over the past year. EIBTM
held in Barcelona in December 2008 broke all records and saw the largest concentration of Hosted Buyers ever (over 3700) at an industry event, conducting some 50,000+ pre-scheduled appointments.
AIME
, which recently took place in Melbourne Australia also broke records and was the largest ever. GIBTM
, which takes place later this month, is also set to see increases across the show.
This year’s CIBTM
education programme will focus on local destination marketing; global trends update; case studies and guidance for operating internationally and within the China and Asia region. CIBTM
is currently inviting international speakers who are interested in participating in the programme to contact the organisers CIBTM
@reedexpo.co.uk.
As part of the new global partnership with RTE’s portfolio of meetings industry events, MPI (Meetings Professional International) is co-locating with the event to roll out the MPI Global Knowledge Plan pre CIBTM
on 6-7 September. MPI’s vision is to create a rich global meeting industry community and this plan is intended to ensure that the development needs of the Chinese meetings community (MICE) are met throughout the entire course of their careers.
More information on the MPI Knowledge Plan can be found on www.mpiweb.org.
“With the brand new exhibition centre, a number of new 4 and 5 star hotels, and much improved fast access and departure from the City’s airport thanks to the legacy of last summer’s Olympics, we are looking forward to creating a new look CIBTM
. There is no doubt that the meetings industry view China as a critical business opportunity and now that Beijing has all the assets of a world-class Meetings & Incentive destination, we believe this year’s event will be as successful as the rest of our portfolio of events during 2008/9”. Said Graeme Barnett
Exhibition Director.
