Applications are now open for the Australian business events industry to participate in Dreamtime 2009, Tourism Australia
's premier event for promoting Australia's incentive experiences to the international market.
Taking the theme of "The story of Australian incentives", Dreamtime 2009 will be held from 12 - 16 October and is supported by Qantas and Business Events Sydney.
Tourism Australia
's Head of Business Events Australia, Ms Joyce DiMascio, said Dreamtime aims to generate future business for Australia's high yielding business events sector, and will target around 100 international incentive agents and 20 international media from Australia's key markets of Asia, Europe, New Zealand, United Kingdom, USA and New Zealand.
"Dreamtime 2009 provides a rare and cost effective opportunity for the Australian business events industry to tell their own incentive stories to qualified international buyers," said Ms DiMascio.
"Those participating will enjoy a targeted environment in which to do business, demonstrate products or services and build relationships with key buyers from around the globe."
This year's program has been re-invigorated and will commence with a two day educational visit to either: Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Sunshine Coast/Brisbane or the Red Centre, followed by a three day business forum in host city, Sydney.
"In addition to providing one-on-one opportunities with buyers, the business forum in Sydney has an educational focus for the Australian business events industry, with seminars on issues relating to holding incentives in Australia," Ms DiMascio said.
A Leaders Forum for up to 30 Australian opinion leaders and stakeholders from the business events sector is also planned.
"Our intention is to build greater awareness around the value of the business events sector, and give industry members useful updates on the calibre of marketing and the expertise required to secure future business events for Australia."
A hosted media program will ensure local and international media have access to the latest incentive travel news from the Australian industry, and provide Dreamtime 2009 participants with an opportunity to maximise their international exposure.
Recruitment for buyers and media to attend Dreamtime 2009 is well underway, with Tourism Australia
's Business Events team in-region working hard to secure the most qualified attendees.
Dreamtime will highlight Australia's credentials for staging sustainable events, with host city Sydney focused on delivering a low carbon impact event.
