The Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau announced a new strategy for drawing more meetings and convention business to Orange County.
The initiative, called Roadmap 2010, involves changes to be made this year designed to impact sales efforts in 2010.
The changes include:
- Promoting Tammi Runzier to senior vice president, sales and services, a position that will oversee the bureau's worldwide meetings, convention and tradeshow efforts.
- Bringing on a senior vice president for convention industry relationships and strategic sales that focuses on industry partnerships and development of citywide events.
- Partnering with the Orange County Convention Center on an integrated direct sales force pilot program.
- Creating a vertical marketing sales force structure.
- Drafting an industry white paper on the future direction of the meetings industry.
The restructuring will create a sales force of 17 account managers from both the bureau and the convention center. The staff will work in the convention center offices.
