MPI offers free online training

mpiMeeting Professionals International‘s (MPI) global educational initiative has been expanded with the introduction of two free online educational programmes.

‘No Turning Back: A Revolution in the Meetings Industry’ and ‘The MPI Meetings Matter Webinar Series’ – both aiming to guide meeting professionals through the current challenging economic and business environment.

‘No Turning Back: A Revolution in the Meetings Industry’ is a three part educational series tackling the four key elements of strategic value for meetings and events: Portfolio Management, Meeting Design, Measurement, and Advanced Logistics.

Led by key industry experts, Mary Boone of Boone Associates, Jack Phillips of The ROI Institute, and Susan Radojevic of The Peregrine Agency, the No Turning Back programme began with an in depth webinar last week, based on Mary Boone’s briefing paper, The Case for Meetings.

The webinar will be followed by a half-day workshop at the July 11-14th World Education Congress in Salt Lake, and conclude with a wrap-up webinar on August 26th.

‘The MPI Meetings Matter Webinar Series’ is an eight part educational programme, held once a week starting at the end of April. To date, this is the largest, most comprehensive, content focused webinar series MPI has launched.

The Webinar schedule is as follows:

- April 29: Layoffs, Cutbacks, and Closing Down: What Are You Doing to Make a Difference?
- May 8: Don't Let TARP Cover You Up—Surviving Tough Economic Times
- May 15: Your Role in Corporate Strategy: Integrating & Aligning Event Goals
- May 20: Managing Transitions
- May 27: You Can Do This!
- June 3: Survival Strategies for Suppliers
- June 10: Show Me the Money (or, Show Me the Value): Enhancing and Communicating the Value of Your Meetings.
- June 17: Telling Our Story: Economic Impact Data and the Attack on Meetings

“In these tough times it is essential that the strategic business value of meetings and events is understood as part of an organisation’s economic recovery plan. We are arming our industry with the education, skills, and tools they need to survive the current business climate and thrive in the future,” said Bruce MacMillan, president and CEO of MPI.
