Boston CVB expands 2009 Short Term Meetings Initiative

boston_cvbNamed America's Favorite City by readers of Travel and Leisure Magazine, Boston continues to get more popular with meeting professionals and their delegates.

The Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau, along with partners, Amtrak, American Airlines, the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) and over 25 member hotels have expanded a Value Program for meetings booked and held May 1, 2009-March 31, 2010.

"Boston is a long time favorite destination for meeting planners. But we understand that given the current economy, planners need to find additional value for their meetings." said Patrick B. Moscaritolo, President & CEO of the Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau.

"We've expanded a program that we think will please all of our clients and their delegates."

The growing list of partners participating in this program are offering a minimum of 3% off the master account, discount cards at two shopping gallerias with over 200 stores, a public transportation card with complimentary fare and discounts on American Airlines and Amtrak.

In addition, participating hotels are including additional offers such as chain reward points, complimentary high speed internet access, and upgrades to suites, meeting room discounts, no attrition, and much more. The program is valid for all business booked and actualized January 1-April 30, 2009.

According to Nancy Novogrod,, Editor in Chief of Travel and Leisure Magazine "Boston may be steeped in history, but it is madly evolving. The combination of the new waterfront Institute of Contemporary Art, the Rose Kennedy Greenway, the urban park created by the Big Dig project, and Boston's hotel scene with new arrivals all add up to a vibrant international destination."

The list of participating properties is growing daily as businesses are looking to help their clients get more for their meetings.
