Several Dallas charities will benefit from the hard work, talents, donations and fundraising efforts of Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) members and sponsors attending the 54th PCMA Annual Meeting in Dallas, Jan. 10-13, 2010.
PCMA's Hospitality Helping Hands program, sponsored by Experient and Marriott's Innovention Network, will take place on Saturday, Jan. 9 and Sunday, Jan. 10.
At this popular program, PCMA attendees participate in hands-on community service projects to give back to the host city.
HHH is a Network for the Needy program, sponsored in part by a generous grant from GES Exposition Services.
North Texas Food Bank: The North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) is a nonprofit hunger relief organization that distributes donated, purchased and prepared foods through a network of feeding programs in 13 North Texas counties.
Family Gateway: Family Gateway provides transitional housing and a comprehensive continuum of services to families with children experiencing homelessness. Since 1986, Family Gateway has offered counseling and training intended to restore dignity, stability, and self-sufficiency to families in Dallas County.
Annual Giving – Keep Dallas Beautiful
Individual contributions made to the Foundation in 2010 will not only support education and research initiatives, but will also go toward the Foundation's 2010 green initiative – Keep Dallas Beautiful.
The mission of Keep Dallas Beautiful is to improve the air and water quality for all citizens of Dallas by making an impact on reducing litter and keeping waterways clean. PCMA donations will be used to build and stock a community tool shed to provide the necessary resources to conduct the greening and beautifying programs.
The giving campaign will be ongoing throughout the year and PCMA members and other meetings professionals can donate anytime in 2010. Fairmont Hotels and Resorts is the presenting partner of the PCMA Education Foundation’s Annual Giving program.
Network for the Needy (NFTN) Donation Drive - USO Dallas/Fort Worth
Brought to you by Founding and Principal Partner GES Exposition Services, PCMA’s Network for the Needy program will be collecting new or gently-used DVDs for the Texas USO, serving personnel in all branches of the military.
Many soldiers travel through Texas on their way to and from bases in the Middle East and DVDs are highly-requested.
Party With a Purpose – Dallas Challenge
Proceeds from the 17th annual Party With a Purpose (PWAP) will benefit Dallas Challenge, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing programs and services that steer young people away from destructive behaviors.
Party With a Purpose is the premiere fundraising event of the meetings and conventions industry, having raised more than $1.6 million dollars. It also supports the PCMA Education Foundation and the PCMA Network for the Needy program.
The 2010 PWAP will take place at Gilley’s Dallas on Monday, Jan. 11. GES Exposition Services is the founding partner of Party With a Purpose.
