In a significant step toward securing the Singer Group’s place as one of South Africa's most progressive travel organisations, Director Brian Singer announced a strategic realignment of the group’s travel interests.
The Singer Group has decided to consolidate the company’s various travel, MICE and inbound tour operations under the Embassy brand, with Marion Schoeman serving as the new Chief Executive Officer.
‘Our Embassy brand is over 40 years old. This consolidation presents our renewed commitment that Embassy will serve as our master brand,’ explained Brian Singer. ‘By consolidating our diverse travel related businesses, along with similar travel acquisitions and developments in the future, under one operation, we’ll deliver an even more robust and efficient travel solution to our valued clients.’
Confinitive, the highly reputable and successful MICE company, founded by Marion Schoeman in 1997, was acquired by the Singer Group in 2002, will be trading as Embassy Conferences, whilst Dolphin Tours, the Singer Group’s inbound travel division will be trading as Embassy Tours. These two divisions will operate alongside the organisation’s retail travel agency, Embassy Travel.
Embassy Travel was founded by industry legend, Barney Singer. Chairman of the Singer Group, Barney is a former President of ASATA and former Vice President of UFTAA. In 1979, he founded SARTAC which later changed its name to Sure Travel, and was a founding member of the XL Travel Group in 2004.
Marion Schoeman has been involved in the travel and tourism industry since 1981 in an ownership and management capacity. She also served as the Chapter President for ASTA, Southern Africa, for several years. Schoeman is well-known throughout the industry for her passion and energy.
