Global Conferences Africa, a member of Tourvest Inbound Operations, has secured several new contracts that will see the company handling event management, travel and accommodation arrangements for some 8 500 delegates over the next two years.
The new contracts secured by Global Conferences Africa so far this year include:
- the South African National Roads Agency which is hosting the PIARC (World Road Association) International Seminar and Technical Committee Meetings for 350 delegates at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in October 2009;
- the Academy of Science South Africa and the Third World Academy of Science which is hosting the Academy of Science and Technology for 350 delegates at the Durban International Convention Centre in November 2009;
- the Department of Social Development which is hosting the 2nd World Security Conference for 1 500 delegates at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in November 2010;
- the Financial Services Board which is hosting the International Organisation of Securities Commissions Annual Conference for 800 delegates in Cape Town in April 2011;
- the State Information Technology Agency which is hosting Govtech 2009 for 2 000 delegates at the Durban International Convention Centre in September 2009; and
- the annual Loerie Awards in Cape Town in September 2009, for which Global Conferences will handle the accommodation and tours for 3 500 delegates.
