Dubai WTC attracts over 21,000 exhibitors in first six month of 2009

Dubai-WTCLatest figures from the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) show that business confidence in the Middle East events sector is on the increase, with the number of companies participating in trade and consumer shows hosted at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) reaching an all-time high in the first half of 2009.

A total of 21,823 companies from over 80 countries exhibited in the 55 exhibitions that were hosted and/or organised by DWTC during the first half of 2009.

Visitors during the six month period totalled 551,938.

The 2009 'Gulfood', one of the world's largest exhibitions covering food, beverages, catering service and hospitality, welcomed 45,489 visitors from over 152 countries.

Arab Health meanwhile, one of the region's largest healthcare exhibitions, welcomed over 50,000 visitors and 2,205 exhibitors from 59 countries.

"In times of global economic challenges and financial instability, it is even more vital for corporations worldwide to continue to engage and interact. No other medium offers the same opportunities to meet with customers, to showcase new products and innovations and to create new business opportunities," said Helal Saeed Almarri, CEO, Dubai World Trade Centre.
