As an award-winning, full-service Event Production and Destination Management Company, ME Productions is exposed first-hand to the numerous trends circulating through the social event network.

Several of its event planners offer a few ideas to make any occasion the “it” event of the season:

  1. “The Devil in the Details” … Event Manager Ted Boyd explains how personalizing the smallest of details ranks #1 in importance, “Mass customization is definitely becoming more popular; from mini-chocolates and table numbers to the design of the napkin rings, every tiny facet is considered.”

  1. “Green is the New Brown” … Bright colors will always be a fixture in event planning; however, natural and earthy colors seem to be more and more prominent.  “Fuchsia, green, orange and white are all colors now seen frequently at social events,” says Event Planner, Linda Reeder.  “Dark woods mixed with refined colors, such as crème or off-white, is also quite popular.”

  1. “Setting the Mood” …The ME event planners agree that natural, internal and LED are popular forms of lighting for many special events.  “Illuminated tables and a candlelit ambiance appear to be all the rage right now,” explains Social Account Executive, Robbie Ratafia.

  1. “Every Dollar Counts”…Because of the recent decline in the economy, people are asking themselves more frequently, “Do I really need this?”  They are taking longer to make their decisions to spend money, but they will spend it, if it counts.  In other words, clients want to get more “bang for their buck” and in doing so, are more cautious when planning every detail of their event.

  1. The Club Scene is the “it” Theme…When it comes to props and fixtures, a consistent trend seems to be the hip South Beach Lounge atmosphere.  This usually includes stylish concept furniture, plush sofas and elegant décor. As for Entertainment…”The Nintendo Wii, Guitar Hero, Rock Band and any other interactive video games are usually a crowd favorite,” explains Cindy Carnero, a ME Social Account Executive.  Having a DJ or MC host is still a popular choice as well.
