Brighton’s convention bureau has completed its six month transformation, led by VisitBrighton’s head of marketing, Melanie Sensicle.

The VisitBrighton team has more than doubled since summer 2005 and has launched its new and experienced team.

The set  now consists of four dedicated members.

Serena Castiglione joined in September 2005 as sales manager to focus on generating new conference business for the city and Julia Gallagher, client services manager, has taken on the task of creating a unique Ambassador programme for the city, which is planned to launch  in summer 2006.

Judith Sturges and Anja Vipan have also been tasked with providing administrative and sales support. They are supported by Melanie Sensicle, Head of Marketing, who takes on business tourism marketing and Adam Bates, Head of VisitBrighton.

The team also has a refreshed remit. With the support of city hotels and venues they are renewing their focus on large international and national events and concentrating on association business in particular.

The team is now well placed to build on Brighton’s track record of delivering in highly complex and demanding multi venue events for up to 20,000 delegates. The city regularly translates this expertise to meet the needs of a diverse range and size of clients, from the World Federation of Public Health to British Nuclear Medicine from the World FOAD Congress to the Tuc Conference.

Head of Marketing, Melanie Sensicle, comments: “In April 2005 I was charged with reshaping the city’s convention bureau. Today we have a new focus, a revised strategy and an experienced and skilled team of staff. VisitBrighton’s convention bureau is ready to deliver on that strategy for the benefit of the city and our partners.”
