The event was the official cocktail reception and a fundraiser for MIR’s annual fundraising weekend to be held in August in the Dominican Republic. In order to set the right stage for the elegant reception, Unique Productions was tasked with loading in the sound components, a stage platform for dancers, and lighting effects for reception held inside Tiffany’s, as well as a red carpet reception and flamenco show held at Tiffany’s front entrance. “When a show is held open air, particularly in a mall setting, logistics can always be a challenge,” said Unique Productions Account Manager Derwin Jones. “In this case, the sound system needed to be heard within only a certain parameter. We did not want to disturb other shoppers or the event going on inside Tiffany’s. In addition, at this particular event, the staging area was confined by the mall’s structure. Bal Harbour features many fountains and seating areas and other great amenities. It is a beautiful setting, but the Unique Productions dance stage had to be set-in so that it would fit within the area and not confine passer-bys or pose a problem for the dancers.” To accomplish the right sound & lighting for the event, Unique Production coordinator Maria Munro along with the team set in an 8' x 8' x 2' feet stage topped with wood decking to create the needed sound for Internationally-acclaimed Clarita Filgueiras, Founder and Artistic Director of the Flamenco Puro Dance Company and her dance partner. The stage provided a correct sound deck for capturing the sharp taps of the Sevillanas step of the dancers.
