PGI, the event and communications agency, announced today that David Kahn and Rod Young are the new general managers for Detroit and Atlanta, respectively, effective immediately. Both GMs have relocated from other PGI offices.

David Kahn has a distinguished background in hospitality sales and marketing, including 12 years with Hyatt Regency Hotels and 4 years with the Ritz Carlton. Most recently he served as general manager of PGI Atlanta. While there, he also oversaw the development and growth of the PGI offices in both Detroit and Denver. Kahn was named "PGI General Manager of the Year" for 2000.

Now Kahn will reside in Detroit full-time in order to further grow that market. Rod Young will replace Kahn as general manager of PGI Atlanta. Most recently, Young served as general manager of PGI Los Angeles. Prior to that he was general manager of PGI New York. Before working for PGI, Young had a long and successful career with Hyatt Hotels.

Accomplishments included serving as Hyatt's youngest general manager at age 26 and being named "General Manager of the Year" for 1988-1989. "At PGI, we often find that the most qualified individuals for particular jobs already reside within the company.

Both David and Rod have done well strengthening our capabilities in Atlanta and Los Angeles, respectively, and are ready to take on new challenges in different markets," stated Chairman and CEO Darryl Hartley-Leonard. "Atlanta is a key market for us and Rod has the leadership to continue the work David has begun. Additionally, Detroit has huge growth potential for us and David is just the man to oversee that."
