Congrex Sweden AB announced the acquisition of SKD Euroconf AB on June 28, 2006.

 

The coming together of Congrex Sweden and SKD Euroconf, market leaders in their respective sectors, provides a new powerful service offer for the three sectors of the meetings industry (association, corporate and governmental) in Sweden and abroad.

 

SKD Euroconf and Congrex Sweden will continue to operate as separate entities. Managing Director, Christina Tannlund will remain in her current position and be a member of the board. Mats Hentzel, current Chairman of SKD Euroconf, will continue his active involvement and remain a member of the board, as will Harald Stubert, Ericsson.

 

Dr Layth Bunni, Congrex CEO, has been appointed the new Chairman of SKD Euroconf and Donald M Hellstedt, Chairman Congrex Sweden, was appointed to the the board of SKD Euroconf.

 

"Today’s transaction between the two strongest players in the Swedish meetings industry enables a faster development in the market," said Mats Hentzel, current Chairman of SKD Euroconf.
