The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre (QEIICC), London’s prestigious purpose-built conference centre in the heart of Westminster, will be showcasing its extensive refurbishments, following completion of its £5 million capital investment programme, at the M&IT Show at Olympia, London from 6-7 October. The Centre will be exhibiting on stand E61 at The Grand Hall and offering visitors the chance to win a Magnum of Champagne.

In addition, the QEII Conference Centre will also be showcasing its new video conferencing facility, its latest ‘Hotspotting Internet service and its innovative re-designed website at the show.

The QEII Conference Centre’s extensive refurbishment programme has been completed and represents the Centre’s continuing commitment to meet the conference industry’s increasingly complex demands for security and cutting-edge technology.

Following the refurbishment of its foyer and Business Centre last year, the last twelve months has seen a number of further improvements. These include new conference seating and event furniture, the installation of induction loops in the conference rooms making the Centre accessible to hearing impaired delegates, and refurbishment of the lifts and toilet facilities.

Stephen Norcliffe, QEII Conference Centre commercial director, said: "These developments complete the modernisation of the Centre’s major conference areas and meet customer expectations for a modern, high-quality venue, incorporating the latest technology. Customer feedback has played a major part in where and how the investment has being made."

The new conference video facility being launched at the M&IT Show means that an unlimited number of people at any one time can be linked to any country worldwide. The QEII Conference Centre will be highlighting how this in-house provision makes planning an event easier and more economical.

Also on show will be the Centre’s new website which helps organisers plan events, find accommodation and provides a complete interactive tour of the Centre. It also gives delegates the latest QEIICC news.

The QEII Conference Centre has also upgraded its IT infrastructure with a new Internet ‘Hotspot’ facility that provides clients with complete wireless Internet access at broadband speeds. The Centre is renowned for being an AV/IT intelligent building and now clients can have instant access to multimedia support.

The Centre will highlight these new developments and its conference facilities at the show. Press wishing to visit the QEII Conference Centre at the show should contact Friday’s Media Group (see below) for an appointment, or visit the Centre on stand E61.

The QEII Conference Centre is an ideal venue for large conferences, with or without exhibition space, and for annual general meetings and gatherings of international organisations. However, it also continues to compete successfully for smaller events, award ceremonies and banquets.
