The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre (QEIICC) has appointed Chris Brown as a non executive director.

Following his appointment Chris will now be a member of the management board and audit committee for the conference centre.

His new role will see him providing external advice and expertise, acting independently to inform the executive decision making process.

He will work alongside two other non-executives and three executive directors on the management board and advise the Centre’s accounting officer and chief executive Ernest Vincent.

A member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, previously Chris worked as head of corporate affairs for the Energy Saving Trust, and as a director at McIntyre Public Relations where he looked after clients including Westminster City Council.

Comments Chris: “My appointment as a non-executive director of The QEIICC has provided me with a great opportunity to get involved in such a highly regarded venue. Calling on my experience in stakeholder events, I am looking forward to working with the management board to help further increase the Centre’s competitiveness and contribute to its future success.”

Ernest Vincent, chief executive at The QEIICC, comments: “Chris is a welcome addition to our board and brings with him the background and skills that are very relevant to us. The conference centre is continually striving to improve both its financial performance and its status as a leading venue for professional meetings and events.  Chris has the experience to contribute valuable knowledge and advice and I am very pleased that he joins our team at an exciting time for all of us.”
