The Meeting Spectrum, one of the earliest texts on event management has been released in an updated second edition ($39.95 at Amazon).

The new edition recognizes how the functions of meeting management and service have changed since the book's publication. It highlights the significant role of technology in all phases of the meeting professional's responsibilities. One entire chapter - written by E.J. Siwek, CMP - is devoted to meeting and event technology.

Current software and industry websites are listed in a new appendix. Recognizing the global nature of the meetings industry, two chapters are devoted to planning and conducting international events

Co-author Rudy Wright shares three decades of industry knowledge and experience. Wright has taught seminars on his specialty at various universities including Cornell, UCSD, Hawaiii and Colorado-Boulder; the last as adjunct faculty. He is a past-president and charter member of MPI and was among the first to earn the CMP designation. He served for four years as international editor for The Meeting Professional and wrote for a number of meetings industry publications.

Another Wright book on global event management will be published this year by Wiley & Sons as part of their successful Event Management series.
