The Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) has appointed Stephen Grieve as its new CEO, after the recent appointment of former CEO Mark Baker to Gift and Homewares Australia (GHA).

With a diverse employment background spanning the airline, retail travel, tourism and events industries, Grieve is a highly qualified and welcome addition to the EEAA team.

Grieve has operated his current Sydney-based business with his wife since 1985, and been involved in packaging projects on behalf of NSW regions.

For a number of years, he has also staged industry promotional events on behalf of various Asian National Tourist Offices around Australia and New Zealand.

Grieve also maintains a longstanding involvement with the Darling Harbour Business Association (DHBA), lobbying the state government on the development, marketing, security and maintenance of Darling Harbour.

Grieve has overseen the affairs of the New South Wales Council of Tourist Associations (CTA) for 13 years, and remains actively involved.

At CTA, Grieve was instrumental in the development and management of a comprehensive registration system for Visitor Information Centres, as well as a groundbreaking research project offering detailed Tourism Research Profiles at a local government area level.

Grieve’s appointment as CEO is effective from 1 September 2006.
