The management has discovered that an exclusive resort was the missing link in the industry and what the upmarket travellers were after. During the winter of 2006-7, the company Capsis Hotels & Resorts undertook a major project which lasted six months costing a total of 25 million euros. The up to now Capsis Beach Hotel & Sofitel Capsis Palace Hotel & Convention Centre, situated in Aghia Pelaghia, 20 minutes from the city of Heraklion, Crete is now known as Out of the Blue, Capsis Elite Resort! The reason for this major change in the resort is to introduce to the world a new type of upscale & VIP holiday destination in Greece, different from anything else the country has to offer. For the new brand identity of the resort, the Capsis management held a four-way bid following a very detailed brief. Four marketing agencies in Greece competed for the branding of the new resort. The companies that took part included three based in Greece namely JNL+, PAUSE People, Am Design and one based in the UK; DK Associates. The new branding will be unveiled in late autumn 2007 at World Travel Market. All the collateral and the website www.capsis.com will carry the new brand identity of the resort. Am Design, headed by Anna Moody, was the winning bidder with the name & concept Out of The Blue, Capsis Elite Resort. Part of the re-branding strategy was the naming of the five distinct sections of the resort that AM Design were also responsible for naming. DK Associates, based in London, were successful in winning the pr and marketing of the Out of the Blue in the UK & Ireland. The agency will be carrying out a campaign highlighting the following messages: · Exclusivity of the Resort · Privacy Available at the Resort · The distinct character of every part of the resort
