Organised by Miller Freeman Asia, the June Hong Kong Jewellery & Watch Fair was staged at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from 20 to 23 June 2001. Spanning over 13,000 sq m of exhibition space, the fair presented 564 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions, a 22% increase from last edition. Among which, Japan represented the largest number of overseas exhibiting companies.

The fair’s significant role as a ‘must attend’ trade event was further qualified by the confirmed attendance of a number of buyer delegation,” said Ms Celine Lau, Jewellery Fairs Manager for Miller Freeman Asia.

The show attracted 13,483 trade visitors from 89 countries/regions, a 14% increase from last year. The fair broke its own record by being the biggest show ever since its reception 13 years ago. The remarkable results reaffirmed the industry’s confidence in the fair as Asia’s ideal platform for the global jewellery business and as Asia’s biggest ever mid-year jewellery fair.

Concurrently held with the June Hong Kong Jewellery & Watch Fair was the Asia’s Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Fair (AFJ). AFJ had grown bigger and better than ever. Exhibition area had expanded to 7,728 sq m with 290 exhibitors this year, a 40% and 32% increase from last year.

Korea was the largest overseas exhibiting group among the participating Asian countries. Responding to the active participation, the June Hong Kong Jewellery & Watch Fair 2002 and AFJ will be held concurrently at its traditional venue and timing at HKCEC from 20 to 23 June 2002.
