| Sydney Prepares For Busy Year Of Meetings |

Australia’s leading venue, the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, is gearing up for a busy 2007 as it welcomes thousands of delegates and participants to a host of large-scale national meetings, international conferences and incentives. The Centre’s calendar kicks off with more than 8000 participants attending a series of major international incentives and meetings during February and March. These include the Roche China Incentive – 1000 people from Feb 5-6, the 10th Triennial Congress of International Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand / 7th Triennial Congress of International Federation of Societies of Hand Therapists – 2000 combined attendance, from March 11-19, and the USANA Asia Pacific Convention 2007 which will host 3500 people from March 8-10. Centre Chief Executive Ton van Amerongen said the venue would play host to 17 international meetings and events throughout the year, cementing its prestigious place on the worldwide meetings stage. “As a recognised leader, the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre is constantly in demand from global organisations and companies seeking a highly professional, stylish and state-of-the-art venue,” Mr van Amerongen said. He said the venue was renowned for its expertise in hosting international business events, with a dedicated staff providing exceptional service with flair and a relaxed friendly approach. Mr van Amerongen said that in addition to 17 international meetings, a huge line-up of national conferences, meetings and events would also be held at the venue during 2007, attracting thousands of visitors and delegates from around the State and the country. The Centre looks forward to welcoming the following major events in 2007: · Happiness & Its Causes Conference with His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama – estimated attendance 2000 people, from June 14-15 · Australasian Real Estate Conference ’07 – up to 1800 delegates, from May 27-28 · Australian Dental Association National conference 2007 – 1500 delegates, from March 16-19 · Teo Chew Association Conference 2007 – 1000 delegates, from November 3-4 · 9th Barbershop Singers National Convention 2007 – 800 attendees, from September 28-30 · ALP National Conference – 1500 delegates, April 27-29 |
