The Germany-based data research and MICE marketing specialist agency Travel Marketing Factory GmbH and the IMEX exhibition have continued their successful co-operation on a market research project in the German outbound C&I market in 2006.

The study was undertaken by TMF GmbH with the support of IMEX. Special conditions for the purchase of the study are available for IMEX exhibitors, as well as subscription rates for the 2006 project.

The research, which is investigating current “Trends in the German Outbound C&I Market”, was conducted for the first time in 2004 and has been consistently expanded since then due to the high interest in the research from convention bureaus, tourist boards and other IMEX exhibitors.

The results of the 2006 study will provide even more in-depth information to fit the needs of the tourist boards and convention bureaus. This year the study was extended to the Austrian and Swiss outbound MICE markets, so that the results now cover the whole German-speaking outbound C&I market in two separate detailed issues.

As in previous years, the results will be presented at IMEX 2006.

The survey provides an insight into the market’s latest trends and a forecast to future developments. More interviews with corporate buyers and MICE agents in 2006 have secured a sound basis for budget decisions; the positive outlook of 2005 has been confirmed and carries on into 2006 – a trend which is reassuring for suppliers planning their promotional activities.

A look into the favourite destinations and preferred sources of information used by German-speaking buyers is crucial for choosing the right marketing and sales tools. The comparison between the German and the Austrian and Swiss markets will provide unique insight into how those markets work, with no comparable research being available elsewhere.

The research presentations will take place during the IMEX exhibition at Messe Frankfurt, Germany on Wednesday 31 May and Thursday 1 June.
