The Royal Thai Armed Forces has assumed the control of the government of Thailand, on a temporary basis. In an emergency decree, the Supreme Commander of the Royal Thai Army has removed the interim government of the caretaker Prime Minister and installed a cabinet of professionals and technocrats to manage the Royal Thai Government until elections are held in the near future. The situation in Bangkok today is perfectly normal. All transportation, business functions are operating as usual. All tourist attractions are open, all shopping venues are open and all restaurant and entertainment facilities are operating at regular hours. Destination Asia Thailand's tours, transfers and Overland Tours are operating as scheduled and we anticipate no disruption to any service to the customers of our tour wholesaler / tour operator, cruise ship or Incentive groups or FITs. The political situation is calm and in fact this change of government was effected to provide for a solution to the current impasse with the electoral rules for the upcoming general election, and as such this change was greeted with almost unanimous approval by the people of the Kingdom of Thailand.
