In a first for Australian convention venues, the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) has unveiled plans for a dedicated Speakers’ Presentation Centre, setting industry benchmark standards for online speaker presentation submissions.

The new Centre will incorporate speakers’ reception lounge and two separate fully networked preparation rooms.

The reception lounge will be fully fitted out with a plasma screen able to be linked to any meeting and breakout room in the Centre and computer work space with coffee and tea facilities available. 

The new presentation centre will provide speakers with a private rehearsal space and will facilitate the sending of presentations pre conference, via a link from the Centre’s website to the conference location. Conference speakers will have the capability and convenience of sending large presentation files direct to the conference venue server via a system that is compatible with all leading web browsers.

At all times the Centre will be attended by senior technical support personnel.

This new client facility will be incorporated into the Centre’s state-of-the-art Edit Suite located on the Mezzanine Level of the Convention Centre and is designed to enhance customer service by streamlining the process of creating, collecting and delivering speakers’ presentation materials. 

The Centre’s Marketing Director, Melissa Mac Court said the concept for the Speakers’ Presentation Centre – as with many other initiatives that have proven to be invaluable for clients – was identified as a result of the Centre’s practice of ongoing communication with clients.

“The success of our clients’ events, their comfort and particularly the confidence and assurance of a well supported presentation is paramount.”

The Brisbane Centre already offers a full range of cutting edge technology in the form of the greatest wideband capacity in Australian venues, wireless networking, Wi-Fi Hotpsots, internet café, 2000 networking points throughout the building and a fully integrated and totally in-house presentation technology and event production services.

This new initiative will ensure that the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre maintains its position at the forefront of meetings industry technology.
