Deerfield Beach-based On Call PR Owner/Publicist Linda Hamburger announced that she was the recent recipient of two awards and a new post with the Gold Coast Public Relations Council (GCPRC).

On Thursday, May 11, Hamburger was elected Vice President of the Gold Coast Public Relations Council. Hamburger previously served as the Council’s Secretary and has been instrumental in creating the organization’s web site and listserve.

On the same day, Hamburger received a Faculty Service Award from American Intercontinental University in Weston where she has taught Advertising as an adjunct faculty member since 2005. The award is presented to faculty in appreciation of the quality instruction, mentorship, and encouragement that they share with students.

Hamburger was also named a finalist for Event Solution’s Best Corporate Marketing Professional of the Year Spotlight Awards. The final Spotlight Award winners are chosen by their peers, utilizing an online voting system to be announced Wednesday, August 23 at the Event Solutions conference being held in Denver, Colorado.

“I was truly honored to receive each recognition," said Hamburger. "As a publicist, it is far easier for me to announce the achievements of my clients, but I’m often reticent about blowing my own horn. It’s not unusual for someone in business to ignore handling themselves as an account as well. Fortunately, I enjoy what I do and it is a great pleasure to be in a career that positions me to help other people achieve their goals while I also find my own challenges to be so rewarding."

On Call PR handles a variety of accounts, primarily in the events industry and new product roll-outs. Besides teaching advertising at AIU, Hamburger is also an adjunct marketing instructor at Northwood University’s West Palm Beach campus and has written feature stories for trade press including the Real Estate Investor’s Publication.

Hamburger has a M.A. in Advertising from Michigan State University, a Master of Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University and has been a Public Relations practitioner for over 20 years.
