Dishing up fresh flavours, amazing variety and new options like chef cooking stations, the 2006 Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre Menu Compendium is a feast for the senses.

The Centre’s innovative cooking stations add the excitement of live theatre to any event and include a modern twist on a time-honoured Aussie tradition – the barbecue – as well as stir fries and yum cha prepared for guests on the spot.

The latest compendium also features more than 80 individual canapé choices, five flexible stand-up menus for working lunches, as well as takeaway executive lunch boxes to enjoy in Darling Harbour’s beautiful parks or by the water.

Executive Chef Detlef Haupt said the latest options meant that the Centre could offer an array of exciting cuisine choices to clients including more outdoor catering – all served with a side order of fabulous views.

“Our latest menus capitalise on the venue’s stunning waterfront location and outdoor entertaining areas, building on the Centre’s quintessential Sydney experience and helping to ensure an event’s success,” Detlef said.

“On-site cooking stations and outdoor barbecues are sure to tantalise the tastebuds, just as the aroma of a chef whipping up a pad thai, fresh tortillas or yum cha baskets for guests while they wait is guaranteed to be a memorable experience.

“Our new barbecue buffets will also spice up any working lunch, featuring delicious innovative Australian fare straight from the hotplate. Selections include everything from minute beef steaks to swordfish marinated in lime, chilli and coriander, cherry tomato and bocconcini salad and roast sweet potato and pumpkin salad with feta, olives and basil.”

Meanwhile, a new range of take-away executive lunch boxes take the casual lunch concept to a new level with a range of tantalising options including salmon with miso, green tea noodle and coriander salad, spinach tortilla wrap with lettuce, tomato, avocado and smoked turkey and blueberry almond crumble – all ready to enjoy with a breath of fresh air in spectacular Darling Harbour.
