Record Year For Corporate Events At Disneyland Resort Paris

Home

For its 2007 business year, Business Solutions, the corporate events division of Disneyland Resort Paris, generated record revenues and more than 131,000 room nights.

The resort’s two on-site convention centres (Disney’s Hotel New Yorkâ, Disney’s Hotel Newport Bay Clubâ) and the its new 6,500-m2 event venue hosted 1,000 conventions, congresses, seminars, exhibitions, product launches and gala dinners for groups ranging in size from 10 to 3,500 attendees.

Of the 1,000 corporate events, 250 involved the partial or total privatisation of the Disneyland and/or Walt Disney Studios theme parks for evening events.

Group size averaged 212 participants. France was once again the number one market generating 42% of the room nights, followed by the UK (30%).

Two other markets of note were Benelux (14%) and Germany (4%), both of which are considered growth markets with the new TGV East that launched in June 2007.

The new service provides direct high-speed train links from eastern France to Luxembourg, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Munich, Basel and Zurich.

In 2007 the Business Solutions team introduced a range of new options for groups hosting meetings, teambuilding and corporate events at Disneyland Resort Paris.

The new Disney Events Arena is conveniently located adjacent to the two convention centres.  This 6,500-m² event venue can accommodate up to 4,000 people for a meeting, 3,500 for a gala dinner and 6,000 for a buffet reception.

The facility’s neutral décor and flexibility make it highly adaptable, giving organisers plenty of space to customise according to their chosen theme.

2007 also saw the arrival of new themed entertainment options including “Crush Party.”  This exotic beach party in the Walt Disney Studios Park, launched with the June opening of the new Crush’s Coaster attraction inspired by the Disney Pixar film Finding Nemo.

Another new feature at Disneyland Resort Paris: the Celestia Spa. This beauty and fitness centre at the Disneyland® Hotel offers a complete range of beauty treatments.

Providing an appropriate backdrop for almost all of the new additions and enhancements was the Disneyland Resort Paris 15th Anniversary Celebration that launched in April. The celebration has been so popular that it has been extended through March 2009.

New options for groups are also on the horizon, including a thrill-packed new themed evening, The Tower of Terror, (the attraction The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror* opens in January 2008).
