Ramada International Hotels & Resorts, a division of Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE: MAR), and Jarvis Hotels announced the conversion of 56 former Jarvis Hotels to the Ramada-Jarvis flag today. This is part of a franchise agreement announced in June, which encompasses approximately 6,200 rooms. The hotels, which are located in England, Scotland and Wales, include: Ramada-Jarvis Hotels, Ramada Hotel & Resort, Ramada Plaza Hotels  

 

It is a credit to our great relationship with Jarvis Hotels that we were able to convert all 56 hotels in such a short period. This is just the start of a successful venture between our two companies, said Reas Kondraschow, senior vice president and managing director of Ramada International.

 

Ramada flags are now flying nationwide and the conversion to the MARSHA system has been seamless. Marriott International and Jarvis Hotels will now both benefit from the increased global exposure to the United Kingdom corporate and leisure markets, said John Jarvis, Chairman Jarvis Hotels PLC. He added that Ramada would like to continue its growth in the United Kingdom through additional franchise partners like Jarvis Hotels.

 

All of the Ramada-Jarvis hotels will maintain Ramada International's five pillars, which are: a restful sleep; an invigorating shower; a well-trained staff; an exceptional level of cleanliness; and the Ramada Mornings Breakfast, a selection that is hot, delicious and easy. All of the hotel rates are listed in MARSHA, Marriott's central reservations system, and are now bookable under the Ramada International GDS code NR in the Sabre, Worldspan, Amadeus and Apollo/Galileo systems.

 

The hotels may also be booked on Ramada International's web site, http://www.ramadahotels.com . There are currently 127 Ramada International hotels in 17 countries and territories. Ramada is currently represented by in the United Kingdom by 57 hotels, including the recently opened Ramada Hotel Shaws Bridge Belfast in Northern Ireland.
