Premios eventoplus, the first awards that give recognition to the corporate event sector, have awarded its winner during a Gala held in the Palacio de Congresos de Cataluña in the presence of more than 500 professionals from the sector in Barcelona.

 

The official award presentation was held in the auditorium, an emotional event filled with humor with the emcee, Marcos Canas. A cocktail-dinner was held after in the gardens of the Rey Juan Carlos I Hotel until dawn.

 

“It has been a long time that the Spanish sector has been looking for a meeting and communication point, as well as recognition for the best initiatives. The creation of Premios eventoplus and the occasion of the Gala aim to provide that: recognition in the sector and a professional meeting point. The response was very enthusiastic with more than 100 projects and the attendance of 500 professionals from different parts of Spain”, comments Lynn Wong, Director of eventoplus and person in-charge of the awards.

 

This award presentation is an important moment for a sector that is experiencing strong growth.

 

The sector is made up by many types of companies, from travel agencies, event agencies to hotels, congress halls, meeting venues, catering, audiovisual, translation, decoration, transportation, etc.

 

According to different studies, the event sector represents an expenditure of more than 6 billion Euros in Spain and companies dedicate approximately 17% of its marketing budget to this activitiy.

 

The winners of the first edition of Premios eventoplus are:

 

·                     Best Special Event: Roadshow 2005 Electronic Arts (Altius Media)

·                     Best Motivation Event: Johnson & Johnson Latin America Sales Convention (Global Events)

·                     Best Incentive: "Australia 2005"/"Cómo conseguir el caldo sagrado" – ING (Terra Consultoría)

·                     Best Promotional Action: "Referendum Plus" - Consejo Juventud España (Shackleton Events)

·                     Best Meeting: Convención anual ventas: Whirlpool Iberia (Abile Corporate Events)

·                     Best Event with Reduced Budget: "¿Quién puso esas zapatillas ahí?" – Nike (Remo D6)

·                     Best Decoration: Feria Iberflora 2005 (Polaris World)

·                     Best Technical Setup: Convención - Formación Nuevo Renault Clio (Global Events)

·                     Best Hotel / Venue: Fiesta de verano anual de Kenzo (Hotel Urban Madrid)

·                     Best New Product: Carpa hinchable MET (AS Montajes Efímeros)

 

The Grand Jury Prize was award to Global Events (Convención - Formación Nuevo Clio) and the Jury has also awarded a special mention for creativity to Remo D6 for "¿Quién puso esas zapatillas ahí?" (Nike).

 

The conception and the production of the award presentation event was by the MCI and Wow! Other collaborators in the event were: Exit Audiovisuales (audiovisuals), Eclipse (Light & Sound), Video DIC (audiovisual production), Smart Impresión (digital printing), Entreacto (decoration), Soft Congres (registration), De Boer (tent), ANR (hostesses), MEF (emcess and script), Art-terra (trophies) and Roca de Viñals (photographer). Catering was provided by The Royal Catering, the catering company of the Rey Juan Carlos I Hotel.
