Paris Expo Wins KREA Awards Trophy 2007

Paris Expo was awarded first prize at the KREA awards ceremony for joint achievement in “Best Congress Event” after the staging of the most important congress in the telecommunications industry - IEC’s (International Engineering Consortium) Broadband World Forum Europe 2006 conference and exhibition which took place at Paris Expo Cnit La Defense, France.

 

Paris Expo Cnit La Defense conference centre, home of the 2006 event offered an outstanding environment in the heart of Europe’s largest business district- Paris La Defense.

 

The entire venue with its 10 000 sqm of exhibit hall, 33 break out rooms & 3 auditoriums played host to a record attendance of 6,800 international delegates and key industry leaders as France Telecom, Alcatel, Siemens and Accenture who delivered content on the next generation broadband wireless technologies.

 

70 tutorials, panels, and sessions, addressed issues such as broadband content delivery, content protection for converged services, next-generation broadband wireless advances, emerging mobile context for broadband content, service-led transformation, fixed mobile broadband, end-to-end IPTV, Ethernet as emerging technology, 3G solutions and integration, market assessment in Europe, and much more.

 

IEC President John Janowiak stated “The Broadband World Forum Europe enjoyed a record attendance in Paris with 6,800 participants from over 120 countries. The host France Telecom provided a platform for sharing major developments in Broadband worldwide, and the Cnit Convention Centre facilities were a perfect setting for this high level program”.

 

The KREA AWARDS, dedicated to event communication is established in partnership with ANAE (Association of event communication agencies) which recognize the creativity and expertise of professionals in the business tourism and event industry.

 

The awards programme covers 5 categories: the “Internal convention” category, the “Special event” category, the “Incentive program” category, the “Congress program” category, and the “Large-scale event” category. They are judged by an independent panel of top meetings executives in various fields of the industry.

 

The awards ceremony took place in Paris at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles on January 24, 2007 with members of the jury and all the nominees from the 5 categories.
