Paris Expo Cnit Conference And Exhibition Centre Emerges From Its Metamorphosis

Home

Present on the main square of La Defense since its birth in 1958, the Cnit an historic emblem in its own right, has undergone a transformation.

Its Conference and Exhibition Centre opened it doors the first week of October 2007 to host all types of professional and public events in a completely re-modernised venue, designed for even greater comfort, more light and more flexibility.

A vast central atrium, visible from the main square of La Defense, now welcomes and guides visitors to the four floors of the conference and exhibition centre which has been entirely refurbished with refined materials.

With an increased number of breakout rooms, improved signage and optimised visitor traffic management, Cnit 2008 simply breaths elegance and functionality.

The teams of Paris Expo Cnit La Defense have put all their expertise and experience into the renovation plans to create a venue now perfectly in harmony with the changing needs of the market.

The Parvis de La Defense, the heart of the business district, is also undergoing renovation work. New towers are under construction, existing ones are being refurbished and new services throughout the area are being introduced.

With the renovation of “Quatre Temps” and the inauguration of the new Dome in April 2006 (a brand new leisure and shopping centre with fourteen restaurants and a large cinema complex), the Parvis de la Defense is now open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is more in tune with the needs of its population.

Some of the greatest names in modern architecture, including Mailly, Prouve, Von Spreckelsen, Pei and Viguier have left their signature on what has now become Europe’s leading European business district – La Defense.

To continue their vision, Epad has instigated this modernisation plan entitled La Defense 2015. In 2008 the Cnit, together with La Defense, a truly unique urban architectural environment, will celebrate their 50th anniversary.
