Tim Obert has been named General Manager of Hyatt Regency Boston.

Mr. Obert began his career with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts in 1988 as a Corporate Management Trainee at Hyatt Regency Waikiki. Since then he has established himself as a leader in a variety of hotel departments at nine Hyatt properties in the United States.

In 2005, a $10.5 million renovation project transformed all 498 of the hotel’s guestrooms and suites into a sophisticated urban retreat, reaffirming its place as one of New England’s premier destination hotels for business and leisure travelers.

Other Hyatt properties that have benefited from his expertise include Hyatt Regencies in Chicago, Los Angeles and Phoenix, as well as Hyatt on Sunset and Hyatt Rickeys in California and Grand Hyatt Wailea Resort & Spa in Hawaii.

Mr. Obert is a native of Pasadina, Md. He served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Infantry from 1981 to 1984.
