A great night's sleep is guaranteed in Westchester County, with several hotels now offering upgraded bedding. This and other refurbishments, renovations, and new meeting and event space are some of the latest hotel developments throughout Westchester County, New York's "Golden Apple" destination just north of Manhattan in the gateway to the Hudson River Valley.

 

Following is a re-cap of improvements at each property:

 

Elmsford, NY – The  Hampton Inn has just completed the installation of new "Cloud 9" Bedding in all 156 guest rooms, which include larger and thicker mattresses. The property is also upgrading the bed spreads and pillows, and raising the headboards in all rooms.

 

New Rochelle, NY - The Radisson Hotel is completing a ballroom renovation which includes the addition of an attractive pre-function area for cocktail receptions, and an upgrade of the existing banquet space.  The ballroom, now 3,500 square feet, features new carpets, new furniture and new decor such as new light fixtures and glass-paneled doors.

 

Rye Brook, NY - The Doral Arrowwood Resort has completed renovation projects that include the installation of a Wi-Fi network in every guest room, new flooring and remodeled furniture in the Atrium restaurant, and pool upgrades.The 6,500 square foot ballroom received a floor-to-ceiling makeover with new carpeting and lighting fixtures. This new effort follows the 2005 expenditure of over $650,000 on room renovations that included new bedding; plush pillow top mattresses, European bed linens and duvets, and sound panels.

 

Rye Brook, NY - An extensive two-phase renovation is in the works at the Hilton property, to be completed over the next 20 months.  So far, the first phase has included a complete kitchen renovation, and the restaurant will re-open under a new name in June. The remainder of the year will be spent on renovating the lobby, bar, guest bathrooms and lobby. The roof will be replaced and the entire property will be upgraded for ADA compliance. The second phase of the project will begin in 2007, and will include renovation of all guest rooms, luxury suites, the Westchester Ballroom and foyer, public corridors and bathrooms.  The health club will also double in size.

 

Tarrytown, NY - The Tarrytown House Estate & Conference Center is completing an $11 million restoration focusing on the grandeur of the historic Biddle Mansion and King House, guestroom houses, meeting spaces and the sports center. The original hardwood and marble floors have been restored in the Biddle Mansion, the drawing room and the garden room, and the King House is being restored to its Victorian splendor. Upscale guest rooms will feature new carpeting, drapes, pillow top beds, comforters, flat screen TV's and new furniture. Upgrades in lighting, new corridor carpeting and artwork, and full-length marble "spa" showers will be installed, along with freestanding granite vanity counters with under mount sinks. In addition, all meeting rooms will be re-appointed, and the business and computer labs will be re-designed.

 

Tarrytown, NY- The Westchester Marriott Hotel has completed an $8 million renovation of all 439 guest rooms. The rooms feature textured blonde wall coverings, artwork and fabrics.The plush Marriott Revive bedding collection, the brand standard for all Marriott Hotels & Resorts, has been incorporated. Improvements to business amenities include swiveled desks with two line speaker phone and desktop outlets.

 

Several other Marriott properties in Westchester County have also incorporated the Marriott brand bedding, which features plusher mattresses, softer sheets, more pillows, and a new fresh white look.  The new bedding is part of Marriott International's global bedding makeover. Properties offering this include: The Courtyard by Marriott Rye, The Westchester Residence Inn by Marriott in White Plains, Residence Inn by Marriott in New Rochelle, and SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Tarrytown.

 

Yonkers, NY - The Ramada is in the middle of a million-dollar renovation of its public spaces and each of the 103 guest rooms, which includes new furniture, carpeting and window treatments, and well as upgraded bathrooms. A new brick-oven restaurant, Totonno's, has opened on site. New plush bedding will be introduced this summer, and the entire front façade of the property will be renovated.
