Conference Worcestershire has appointed Emma Robinson as conference desk co-ordinator, after years of catering, hospitality and management experience in a number of top quality venues as well as in other industries.

“Worcestershire has so many pluses to help it attract businesses – it is a beautiful county with dozens of quality hotels and facilities, and has the ideal transport links,” said Robinson.

“Conferences are moving out of board rooms and into more inspiring venues and it is a really exciting time to be a part of the Worcestershire scene.”

Worcestershire’s diverse range of venues includes Malvern Hills Science Park, River Severn boat cruises and numerous top class sports clubs to the stunning and historical Birtsmorton Court and the Lygon Arms hotel.

The county hosts more than 15,000 conferences a year – around 415 per centre – and Worcestershire remains cheaper than the average conference location – according to the British Conference Venues Survey 2005, the average daily conference delegate rate in Worcestershire was £35.33 and the average residential rate was £128.16 – slightly below the national average.
