Brisbane Marketing has followed up the release of its immensely successful 2006 Visitors’ Guide with the launch of two new guides showcasing Brisbane’s best conference and meeting facilities.

The Unique Venues Guide and Brisbane 2006-07 Meeting Planners’ Guide are the latest hot-ticket items for savvy operators in the meetings and events industry.

Brisbane Marketing Acting CEO, Paul Lewin, said Brisbane had a rapidly growing reputation as one of the world’s best business meetings destinations.

Brisbane is a young vibrant city boasting energy and optimism and world-class facilities,” said Mr Lewin.

“We’re incredibly proud of the many great venues that Brisbane has to offer and these new Guides add further credence to Brisbane’s position as both the place to play and the place to do business in Australia.”

Mr Lewin said the diversity of Brisbane’s convention and meeting venue offerings was nothing short of astounding.

“When it comes to conventions and meetings, Brisbane has all bases covered. From the large-scale, international event to the small, intimate gathering, there’s a venue to suit every possible need and every possible event,” said Mr Lewin.

“The 2006 edition of the Unique Venues Guide profiles those venues that stand out from the crowd – they’re our special sites and spaces that are a little bit different and truly unique to this part of the world.

“Select any one of the venues listed in our Guide and you’re well on your way to creating an extraordinary event that people will remember long after the last guest speaker has left the stage.”

A quick flick through the 80plus page booklet reveals a diverse spectrum of venue options – from the grandeur and character of old heritage buildings to hallowed and much-revered sporting grounds to luscious outdoor spaces to modern graffiti-ridden urban art spaces.

The guide also contains important information on capacity levels, site dimensions, services and facilities, catering options and parking arrangements.

Mr Lewin said anyone looking to hold a conference in Brisbane should also get a copy of the Brisbane 2006-07 Meeting Planners’ Guide.

“The Meeting Planners’ Guide is the ultimate authority on meeting planning in Brisbane and is the perfect companion to the Unique Venues Guide,” he said.

“It covers all the essentials including general facts and figures on the city, venues and accommodation, professional support services, and leisure activities.

“There’s also an entire chapter dedicated to the assistance available from the Brisbane Convention Bureau.”

Mr Lewin said the Unique Venues Guide and the Meeting Planners’ Guide were the latest component of Brisbane Marketing’s ground-breaking multi-million dollar interstate campaign.

“These Guides are another step towards changing people’s perceptions of Brisbane and revealing the true spirit of our dynamic and modern destination,” he said.
