This move was motivated by the need for an avenue by which individuals and small businesses can more easily contribute to the funding of the APEX initiative. This Foundation will provide tax benefits to contributors as all contributions will be tax deductible. The Foundation's purpose is very focused and intent is very clear - to support existing CIC projects and programs. It will not compete with other industry foundations' activities, nor will it be involved in grant making or external research. The primary program that the CIC Foundation will support is the APEX (Accepted Practices Exchange) initiative. Other programs that will benefit from the Foundation's resources are the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Program and the Hall of Leaders.
