Ireland’ s first national conference centre has got the go ahead to be built at Spencer Dock in Dublin.

As co-founder and first chairman of the Dublin Convention Bureau, Ciarán Hynes, Managing Director of Bravo Group has been a driving force behind the development of the National Conference Centre for Dublin for many years.

Commenting on this development Ciarán stated that

The building of a conference centre of this scale and capacity will have a huge impact on the conference industry in Dublin and will place Ireland on the international map for world class conferences”.

The largest auditorium can host up to 2,000 delegates but the conference centre could cater for conferences of up to 5,000 delegates. The design and layout of the centre will offer flexibility to host world-class international conferences and will be built by the Treasury Holdings/Irish Rail Consortium as a Public Private Partnership (PPP).

This state of the art conference centre will be built by 2008 and will be open its doors for business in 2009. The centre will include a 250-bed five star hotel and it is reported that the overall development will generate an additional 50 million in tourism revenue each year.

An Irish born Architect, Kevin Roche designed the centre to be located by the banks of the Liffey. The same architect designed the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
