MPI Greater New York Chapter announced the 16th Annual Terry Spinelli Auction and Social to be held March 25, 2003 on the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum, which is permanently docked on the Hudson River on Manhattan’s West Side.

“There are so many outstanding special event venues to choose from in New York City and we had a very difficult choice of selecting the right venue for the Auction Fundraiser and Social. But this year we felt that the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum, which is celebrating its 20th Anniversary, was clearly on everyone’s mind and would fit well with MPIGNY’s own 25th Anniversary year” commented Blanca Diaz CMP, of BND Meeting Services, and one of the co-chair’s of the organizing committee.

The theme of the Auction Fundraiser and Social will be ‘A Venture Through History’. Mark Albin, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Business Development said, “We are delighted to be the selected venue to hold one of the industry’s most prestigious events aboard the Intrepid. It gives us a great opportunity to showcase the $30 million capital improvements which have been made to the museum, while at the same time we help MPIGNY with its fundraising efforts.”

The event is the major fundraiser for The Terry Spinelli Scholarship Award and MPIGNY’s designated charity, Miracle House. Based in New York City, Miracle House provides affordable and supportive residence to those relatives who come to New York to care for their loved ones as well as to patients seeking life-saving treatments available only in our great city.

The Terry Spinelli Scholarship Award provides scholarships to outstanding chapter members to further their professional education. Administered by the Awards Committee, these scholarships enable members to attend national MPI educational programs such as the annual Professional Educational Conference, World Education Congress and Institutes I and II.
