MPI members got a sneak preview of what to expect at the PEC-Europe in London in 2008, thanks to an evening of fun and food (and drink) with Visit London at this year’s European conference in Davos Switzerland.

Over 50 people, including some of the industry’s top players, joined a 6-strong Visit London team for an exclusive evening of entertainment in the snow covered valley at Davos.

A beautiful alpine setting, horse drawn sleighs, glüwein, fondue, local wines, traditional Swiss folk music, ‘fondue chinoise’, vodka sorbet and more local wine all helped to ensure that guests had a good time and left them wanting more.

With London set to host the prestigious event in two year’s time the Visit London team is already planning the festivities for the 2008 conference. In a city with so much to offer the world of meetings and events, it’s a tough task ahead to confine a London programme to just three days and nights.

Visit London Sales Manager Europe, Barbara Jamison, said: “We wanted to give guests a taste of what’s to come in 2008 and the group certainly enjoyed themselves. We’re looking forward to welcoming MPI to London and we’re confident we can give them something they will talk about for years to come.”

Patrick Delaney of Ovation Group in Ireland: “A wonderful night out. I hope the restaurant did not find us too ‘animated’.”

Pia Huhtala of Nokia Corporation in Finland: “The Visit London evening in Davos was unforgettable!”

Richard Parker of Pfizer in the UK: “I thought the evening was excellent. The rustic nature of the first stop where we took fondue added to the authenticity and was in keeping with the entire PEC.”

Robin Lokerman of MCI in Belgium: “It was one of the highlights of the MPI conference, a real fun mountain experience!”

Ruud Janssen of Congrex Holland: “I think the initiative was fabulous and a great success. I feel this puts London in a league of its own.”
