The IAPCO Council met in Queenstown for what will rate as a hard to beat, extraordinary experience.
As the quest wound its way through the valleys by helicopter, Milford Sound by cruise boat, traversed the rugged country in 4WDs, kayaked across waters, leapt off the mountain top in hang gliders and lifted off to spy for Ents and Orks by hot air balloon, the quest for the fellowship of the ring firmly bonded this disparate group of travellers.
Jan Tonkin of the Conference Company, NZ has become a legend in the PCO community as a result of not only providing stunning arrangements but weather to match!
In Rivendell, Lord of the Rings speak for Queenstown, the Council was touched by the spell of this magic island wonderland.
A motivating environment is the incentive which inspired the group to produce an action packed year of activity in the 40th year of the Association.
Moving onto Auckland for the General Assembly, 40 IAPCO colleagues came together to plant 40 trees in a significant greening effort.
Sessions in the working programme included Which Governments are doing what for the meetings industry? featuring Kevin Leong for Singapore Tourism Board who wowed the gathering with the show stopping adventures of a proactive Government.
Sporting Events and the opportunities for PCOs was a real eye opener for the entrepreneurs while The evolution of medical meetings - future trends was without doubt one of the most incisive deliveries seen in recent years informing of what to expect - there is no doubt that IAPCO members are at the forefront of change as evidenced by this all member panel.
Green meetings and their impact on PCOs generated an agenda for the future that will keep members busy guiding their clients across greener pastures. |
